Cheap Transportation in Spain
Traveling in Spain can be done by air, rail or road. Buses are usually the cheapest transportation method in Spain. They are usually comfortable and travel mostly at night. All major cities in Spain have their own bus station where tickets can be bought.
Taking a train is another viable option, although it tends to be more expensive. Monthly and weekly passes are available at most major train stations and allow travelers to use the Spanish railroad system as much as they want during the validity period of their pass.
Budget Accommodation in Major Spanish Cities
Madrid and Barcelona, along with a host of other smaller cities, have a wide choice of hostels on offer. Hostels usually tend to be cleaner and cheaper than 1-star hotels and are therefore a better option. Visitors should be aware that booking at certain hostels can only be made by owners of a membership card of the particular association which runs the hostel. Those cards can, of course, be bought at the hostel desk, but their price should be factored in when budgeting the total cost of the holiday.
